Giving that stays close to home
The Rotary Club of Westshore Sunrise Foundation is our club's registered charity. Every dollar supports projects our members choose, build and volunteer for.
About the foundation
The Rotary Club of Westshore Sunrise Foundation (charity registration 855873063 RR 0001) holds and grants the funds our club raises for charitable work. It has supported a wide range of community and international projects over the years, from the Cst. Sarah Beckett Memorial Playground in Langford to orphanages in Haiti and a girls' school in Malawi.
Our members are volunteers, so your gift goes to the work itself: playgrounds, literacy, scholarships, food security, clean water and more.

Don Rugg Memorial Fund
June 27, 1944 – March 23, 2026
Don Rugg was part of the Rotary Club of West Shore from its very first days. He led our first-ever project, Roses for Rotary, in 2003, served as president three times (2005–06, 2006–07 and 2016–17), and was there for just about every BBQ, cleanup and meeting since. He was always the first to volunteer, and the club didn't run without him.
Gifts to the Don Rugg Memorial Fund will go toward a lasting tribute to Don, such as scholarships. We're working on the best way to honour him and will share more soon.
Please note "Don Rugg Memorial Fund" with your gift.
