Colwood Rotary's legacy
Picnic shelter, playgrounds and field lights at Juan de Fuca, and much more from the Rotary Club of Colwood.
Before our two clubs merged in 2017, the Rotary Club of Colwood (later Westshore Sunrise) served the West Shore for 45 years. Its projects included:
- The picnic shelter, washrooms and soccer field lights at Juan de Fuca, and the Rotary Picnic Playground beside the shelter
- The children's playground at Veterans Memorial Park and play equipment for four West Shore elementary schools
- Support for the Colwood Firehall Museum, Langford Fire and the RCMP bike patrol
- Becher Bay Education Centre, Pacific Centre Family Services and the Juan de Fuca Priory
- Scholarships for Belmont students, Rotary Youth Exchange and youth leadership awards
- An annual Art & Wine Festival at Fort Rodd Hill
- Operation Bombero: a Langford fire truck for Belize
