Disaster relief

When major disasters strike, Rotary is already on the ground. Over the years West Shore Rotary and individual members have bought a number of Disaster Aid and ShelterBox kits: a family tent, tools, hygiene kits, warmth and comfort items and a water filter that can give a family of ten a year's worth of drinking water.

Kits only go where they're needed and where a partner on the ground, usually a local Rotary club, can oversee distribution. We've also given to disaster relief in the Philippines and, in 2022, to the Rotary Disaster Fund for Ukraine.
